Why Stupid Citrix Tricks?

Why is this site called Stupid Citrix Tricks? Let's take this out of order, like a proper Citrix engineer.

Why Citrix? Citrix is the leading application virtualization system, and has been for two decades. You install an application on the server, and when users run it, it behaves as if it's running locally on their workstation. Think of it as a private cloud for applications. (It can also be used as a virtual desktop infrastructure, but that generally requires no trickery.)

Why Tricks? Many applications don't like to be shared among a mob of users. They require a little... persuasion before they'll work right. So every Citrix admin has his bag of tricks - techniques that help him or her deliver exactly what the users want.

Why Stupid? To the untutored eye, these methods may appear less than optimal. But I guarantee that there's a story behind every weird script, or batch file, or scheduled task that seems to do nothing. No matter how stupid they look, these tricks were put there to solve very particular problems.

So that's what it means. If you want to know where I got the name, look no farther.
